Has anyone ever heard of this car accident or have a link to information about it?

in drivers ed today they told us a true story about how this girl and her boyfriend were leaving a party and the girl let her drunk boyfriend drive and coming around a tight turn in a 25 mph speed limit zone he was going 50 and they crashed into a tree the boy was fine with only minor problems but the girl had metal in her and when her mom came they informed her that they need to use the jaws of life to remove her daughter from the car and the way in which the metal is inside her she is going to die when they remove her and she can either sit with her daughter at her last moments of inform the daughter what was going to happen the mom chose to just sit with her daughter in the last moments and the mom starting to sing a lullaby and the daughter sang with her and they they started to remove the daughter from the car and her voice slowly became quiter and then she died. i belive it took place in michigan.
